MODIS (or Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) is a key instrument aboard the Terra (originally known as EOS AM-1) and Aqua (originally known as EOS PM-1) satellites. Terra's orbit around the Earth is timed so that it passes from north to south across the equator in the morning, while Aqua passes south to north over the equator in the

These images are available as true color composites as well as other band visualizations and ratios which illustrate different characteristics. Historically, MODIS subset images have been customized for specific project applications or at the request of end users. Collection-5 MODIS/Terra FPAR products are Validated Stage 1, meaning that accuracy has been estimated using a small number of independent measurements obtained from selected locations and time periods and ground-truth/field program efforts. Although there may be later improved versions, these data are ready for use in scientific publications.
The MODIS AOD used in this study is the MODIS/Terra C6 L3 merged DTDB AOD product for the period April 2000 to December 2015. Here, MODIS/Terra has been chosen because of the morning orbit with an Equator overpass (descending) time at 10:30 LT, i.e., close to the ATSR Equator overpass times (ATSR-2 at 10:30 LT; AATSR at 10:00 LT), which allows for comparison of the data over China within about
Terra is at an altitude of 705 km Both NDVI products use the same algorithms, i.e., BRDF modelling and CV-MVC compositing. The only difference is the data input. Terra circles a morning orbit Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) from the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) data aboard Terra satellite reflect plant growth.

For instance, the sensor measures the percent of the planet’s surface that is covered by clouds almost every day. Worldview Snapshots is a logical evolution of the Rapid Response system.
Although there may be later improved versions, these data are ready for use in scientific publications. MCD19A1 represents a daily L2 gridded (L2G) land surface bidirectional reflectance factor (BRF) product created using both Terra and Aqua MODIS data inputs. Based on the Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC) algorithm, it atmospherically corrects MODIS data for both gases and aerosols.

27 dec. 2020 — color image taken on July 26, 2002, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), flying aboard NASA's Terra spacecraft. Terra is an international mission carrying instruments from the United States, Japan, and Canada. Por su parte, Carlos Pérez, director de Modis Life Science, With its sweeping 2,330-km-wide viewing swath, MODIS sees every point on our world every 1-2 days in 36 discrete spectral bands. Consequently, MODIS tracks a wider array of the earth’s vital signs than any other Terra sensor. For instance, the sensor measures the percent of the planet’s surface that is covered by clouds almost every day. Worldview Snapshots is a logical evolution of the Rapid Response system.
